Essay Topics of Anne Frank
Essay Topics of Anne FrankThe Girl With All the Gifts by Anne Frank is one of those books that I read many years ago, and then I almost forgot about it until recently when I was reading about the essay topics that the major Pulitzer Prize winners were writing. When I discovered that Anne Frank had written another novel, it just seemed like the logical next step to check out some of the essays that she had written, and I was very glad I did so.In this book, Anne Frank writes in a diary of a young girl from Poland. She has a life before her and a younger sister. In her notes, she describes the Polish people as 'frail and ill-nourished' (no wonder they have such big and sore eyes!) and the kindness only some of them showed her.In her notes, she describes how children are abused for entertainment. She writes about children being sent away to work camps for their own good - as if 'being abused for amusement is something to be proud of.'She also talks about the indifference of the American s, who are so kind to the Jews as to not notice how their kindness goes out the window when it comes to these poor little Poles. And she discusses the discrimination that people of non-Jewish origin face in the USA.Anne Frank also talks about the oppression of women and the problems with women's rights and makes you realize how far we have come, even back to her time. And she also talks about the different ways that society treats different races, saying, 'One does not imagine ourselves to be more than one's fellows.'Now that I've read all of the essays in this book, I find myself rereading it and thinking of Anne Frank. She had a flair for words and a powerful voice that called attention to certain things that we do not like to think about. She could also see things that others could not.The Girl With All the Gifts is another one of those books that will make you ponder the world that we live in. The themes that Anne Frank discusses are timeless and they will always be relevant to today's world. To see what is inside the envelope that Anne Frank sent you, go to Wikipedia. Enter the name Anne Frank and you will see what I mean. Enjoy the essays that I mentioned above!
